Packing for a ferry winter

Night ferries was shot on forty-one crossings between Bergen and Stavanger. I decided on the kit before the first one and did not change it.
The list
One 35 mm body and a 50 mm lens
Fast black-and-white film, pushed one stop
A small notebook and a season ticket
Why so little
A saloon at three in the morning is a private place. A second camera or a flash turns you from a passenger into a crew, and people stop being themselves.
The limit also decided the look. At that light level a 50 mm lens is open all the way, so almost nothing is sharp except the one thing you chose.
